Only a deposit is needed to secure your place on any of the BADC courses, made payable by BACs or PayPal.

BADC Standard Level Intensive

WHO IT’S FOR:
Beginners to stage combat or those with no previous British Academy of Dramatic Combat (BADC) qualifications, or those wishing to renew an expired BADC Standard (Level 1) certificate.
WEAPONS COVERED:
This course will cover Rapier & Dagger, Single Sword and Unarmed combat techniques.
This is an intensive course in which students will spend up to 50 hours learning to safely perform fight choreography in each of the three prescribed fight disciplines. The nature of this course is on combat in performance, and as such it will also focus on acting skills, with students working on incorporating their fight choreography into dramatic scenes. Exploring topics such as character intention, fight rhythm and staging, students will learn to create a fight in which they are connected and truthful in order to deliver an engaging and dramatic piece of theatre to an audience.
Students will have the opportunity at the end of the course to certify with the British Academy of Dramatic Combat at Standard level in rapier & dagger, single sword and unarmed combat. The test fee is included in the course price.

BADC Intermediate Level Intensive

WHO IT’S FOR:
Anyone with a current Standard (Level 1) BADC qualification or those who have an expired Intermediate (Level 2) qualification. Those with a Standard Level qualification from another Stage Combat training organisation (BASSC, APC) can be considered for the BADC Intermediate if their qualification is still valid.
WEAPONS COVERED:
This course will cover Medieval Longsword, Knife and Quarterstaff
This is an intensive course in which students will spend up to 50 hours learning to safely perform fight choreography in each of the three fight disciplines stated above. This course will build upon the foundations gained on the Standard Level qualification, with students engaging with the dramatic and historic elements of each weapon system whilst presenting a technique that is hidden to the audience, to create a fully committed, truthful performance. One of the weapon systems will incorporate a script.
Students will have the opportunity at the end of the course to certify with the British Academy of Dramatic Combat at Intermediate level.

BADC Advanced Level Intensive

WHO IT’S FOR:
Anyone with a current Intermediate (Level 2) BADC qualification or those who have an expired Advanced (Level 3) qualification.
WEAPONS COVERED:
This course will cover Unarmed, Medieval Longsword, Rapier & Cloak, Axe & Knife and 18th Century French Smallsword
This is an intensive course in which students will spend up to 63 hours learning to safely perform fight choreography in each of the five fight disciplines stated above. This course will continue to challenge students to build upon the skills learned and honed during the Standard and Intermediate Level qualifications. Students will present a level of historical accuracy to the individual weapon systems whilst engaging dramatically with the theatrical elements of performance and producing a flawlessly hidden technique. One of the weapon systems will incorporate a script.
Students will have the opportunity at the end of the course to certify with the British Academy of Dramatic Combat at Advanced level.
The test fee is included in the course price.
